College Board and ACT Respond to Cheating Scandal – New Rules for Taking the SAT and ACT Beginning in September, 2012

Beginning in the fall of 2012, students will be required to submit photos of themselves when they sign up for college entrance exams. Photos will be attached to the student’s scores, which, for the first time, will be sent to the student’s high school so that school officials can verify authenticity. Previously, test results were sent only to the student. This has implications for “score choice” as well.

Additionally, students will no longer be able to take the SAT or ACT on a “walk in” basis. Pre-registration will be required.
