Unless it’s your job, like it is mine, 3 times is plenty. Some test prep companies will advise that you take the SAT as many times as possible. Generally, this is advice designed to boost their profits and keep enrollment numbers high. The cold and hard reality is that the chance of an SAT score rising significantly on the 4th, 5th, 6th etc. try is slim to none. Don’t waste your money or your child’s sanity – do it right the first (or second) time.
